Review of Diabetes - King Edward VII
4th July 2022

More than anything else, what I value about this service is that I see the same doctor on each visit, which both saves time in establishing the history of my condition at the beginning of each visit, and helps to build a relationship of trust. I don't know any other part of the NHS - including my GP surgery - where I actually feel that I know the doctor and can talk to her confidently.

Suggested improvements
Can't think of anything. The appointment started a little late but I always bring a book to read while waiting because it's understandable that doctors may run late through dealing thoroughly with earlier patients.

Review of Hearing & Balance (Audiology) - King Edward VII Hospital
1st July 2022

After taking many months trying to get an appointment. Just needed a different ear mould this was causing some pain and discomfort.I finally got through and was given a appointment which was cancelled. I was given another one. When I was in the surgery two separate people they didn’t have appointment yet they were seen straight away one for a mould and the other for repair they were seen straight away. I asked if you could just walk in was told you had to have an appointment. I just felt this was a bit unfair.

Suggested improvements
I had tried to get appointment since January phoning I got one in June. Overall Apart from the above I can’t really fault the care and obviously this present time things can’t run smoothly.

Hospital and the two nurses it meet were very good, one thing that gob smack me it they could not find any records of the MRI scan and what Dr [name removed] tried to do with my hearing in 2018 !! So it looks like we are starting from scratch AGAIN

Suggested improvements
Find my Hearing test results ie ear pressure check and MRI result.

Review of Podiatry Maidenhead & Windsor - King Edward VII Hospital
29th June 2022

The Podiatrist ([name removed]) was as always very pleasant and helpful

Suggested improvements
I also had a appointment for a Blood Test (being type 2 Diabetic) I reported to the Desk and ushered to the waiting area and TOTALLY IGNORED for 45 minutes and had to leave without the blood test because I had another appointment and other things to do. Hopefully patients will be treated better in the future (but I won't be holding my breath for it to happen)

Review of Hearing & Balance (Audiology) - King Edward VII Hospital
29th June 2022

14 weeks ago I went unilaterally deaf from SSHL and was a massive shock. I have been struggling to cope with bad tinnitus that has massively effected my sleep. I also had many practical unanswered questions regarding how to move forwards and adjust to my new normal. The appointment that I had with Berkshire Hearing & Balance at King Edwards on 27/06/22 at 2pm was the first time since I went deaf that someone listened to my concerns, gave me solid practical advise that would improve my quality of life regarding tinnitus and started the process of fitting me for the appropriate hearing aids. I can’t stress enough how appreciative I am to have had not just practical care with my hearing and tinnitus, but also I felt supported emotionally and understood. Just to feel as though I was talking to a healthcare professional who not only had the specific knowledge about my type of hearing loss, but also that they took the time to give me some emotional support and listen was so, so appreciated.

Suggested improvements
I was totally satisfied with the care I received.

Review of Hearing & Balance (Audiology) - King Edward VII Hospital
28th June 2022

We have docked one star because although the treatment at the hospital was superb, I did not receive a letter about this appointment and only found out I had it when I was phoned to change the time. If that had not happened I would have missed my slot and had a blackmark against my name, which would not have been my fault. Also when we arrived the person manning reception sent us to the wrong department as we had to ask because of the lack of letter and then had no idea where ENT was when we returned. This nearly made us late and I had to walk a lot further than necessary which I found difficult
